Update on Hermes!! the adorable little chestnut rooster from the Spotsylvania Animal Shelter in Fredericksburg, VA has made it to his wonderful forever home with the amazing @sanctuary_farm_everlasting_car! ?? . Reposted from @sanctuary_farm_everlasting_car - Meet Hermes! . It took a while for him to get here from the shelter he was in in Northern VA, but he's here now, as of 2 days ago. I have only the fragments of info that Amanda was able to put together re:his background. The short tale is that it looks like Hermes was an indoor Roo until someone snitched him off & his previous family had to ditch him at the shelter. After a couple of days I can guaranty that the inside Roo part is true 'cause he takes to inside the house & affection like a pro. The first night, he stayed in an outdoor coop because I was overwhelmed with heat & Anli the pigeon. But he's been in a day a half now and the boy cried for almost an hour when I first brought him in. I keep telling him that this is his forever home now & he'll never have to leave here ever again - unless it's just for a truck ride - but that this is his home forever. He just walks around investigating stuff. He'll stop in front of a box or a furniture and look at me & say "is this mine?" & I say "yes Hermes, it's all yours.". He crows a gurgley little high pitched Bantam crow then moves to another thing and says "what about this? Is this mine too?" & I say yes, and he crows again. I've not let him and Shiva get together yet, but their night cages are right next to one another. Shiva is jealous, but I intuit that it'll work out. Both boys so much wanna be part of a family and Hermes is not in the least aggressive. He craves love like a baby and will be in no time choosing his favorite TV shows. @adoptabirdnetwork Via Jody Bart with Sanctuary Farm Everlasting Care #sanctuaryfarmeverlastingcare #sanctuary #animals #sanctuaryanimals #farmsanctuary #animalrescue #roosters #roosterrescue #chickens #roostersofinstagram #roosterrescueofInstagram #rescuechickensofinstagram #Hermestherooster #hermes #stopkillingroosters #stopkillinganimals #stopeatinganimals #stophunting #bachelorflock #houserooster #adoptabirdnetwork
