Roosters certainly don't have it easy. Of all the animals, they are probably one of the most forgotten, abused, stereotyped, and misunderstood. They are subjected to immense cruelty starting from the day they hatch and throughout their incredibly shortened lifespan. It is really sad because they are such wonderful little birds who deserve more than this.
Why Adopt A Rooster?
- Protection. They watch over their hens—even other roosters, by keeping on the lookout for predators, finding tidbits of food to eat, and solving conflicts between flock members.
- Companions. Roosters are affectionate, smart, and have just enough personality as a dog, if not more. You can house more than one rooster and they can get along just fine!
