Hightstown, NJ – Introducing Falco! Falco is a 5 year old male cockatiel. He was living in a cage with 3 other cockatiels in his previous home. They had all been together since babies (two other males and a female). Falco wasn’t bonded to any of them and seems to like having a cage, toys and food to himself. He does like having other small birds nearby and would do best in a home with another male cockatiel looking for a buddy, or possibly another species of small bird like a budgie or canary winged bee. His previous owner said he came to her with a broken left wing. When his foster home got him they brought him to the vet and found out that he had a large cyst above his left humerus that was filled with fluid. The fluid was drained 2 1/2 weeks ago and the cyst has not refilled with fluid. Radiographs were taken at his follow up vet appointment last week which did not show his wing was fractured. Falco is not hand tame, but will step up if on the floor or dresser. His previous home did not interact with the birds and left them to interact with each other, he is hesitant of human interaction. Falco will require patience and trust building to be more comfortable around and like hanging out with humans. Falco is a big boy and was fed an all seed diet. He is now being fed pellets and fresh food. Please consider opening your heart to him, and providing him a happy, no-kill, forever home he deserves!
