Manahawkin, NJ - Introducing “Benny” (or Big Ben)! Benny (ID 15040115) is a 27-year-old Panamania Amazon. Big Ben is a relatively quiet guy who likes nothing more than hanging on top of his home throughout the day. If he gets startled, he might do a “fly-about” then land on the ground, at which time he will “step-up” onto your hand to be returned home. When he does speak, he’s been heard to say “hey baby, “good morning“ and “hello.” He’ll also whistle, sing along to music, and imitate a ringing phone. Big Ben loves his head scratched and is very happy to get a bird bath via spray bottle. Also, he isn’t bothered by motorized appliances, e.g. vacuum, blender, etc., nor active environments. He shared his previous home with dogs and cats, but since he wasn’t out much, it’s unclear how he would react to them. Benny is on a healthy ZuPreem pellet diet, supplemented with fresh vegetables (carrots, celery, peppers, etc.), and if you eat pizza or pasta in front of him, this is the time he yells until you share. He is also very fond of peanuts and dried fruit, especially banana chips. Benny is currently being fostered in Manahawkin, NJ and will only be adopted to a forever home within easy driving distance.
